Psalm 132:10-12 Part 2 of 2

For the sake of your servant David,
    do not reject the king you have anointed.
The LORD swore an oath to David
    with a promise he will never take back:
"I will place one of your descendants
    on your throne.
If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant
    and the laws that I teach them,
then your royal line
    will continue forever and ever."

"If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant and the laws that I teach them, then your royal line will continue forever and ever."
1 Chronicles 17:14-15
    " 'I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom
    for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.' "
So Nathan went back to David and told him everything the LORD had said in this vision.  (see all 1 Chronicles 17)
1 Kings 2:1-4
    As the time of King David's death approached, he gave this charge to his son Solomon:
    "I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man. Observe the requirements of the LORD your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go. If you do this, then the LORD will keep the promise he made to me. He told me, 'If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.' "
(see 1 Kings 2:1-12)
2 Chronicles 6:16-17
    "And now, O LORD, God of Israel, carry out the additional promise you made to your servant David, my father. For you said to him, 'If your descendants guard their behavior and faithfully follow my Law as you have done, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.' Now, O LORD, God of Israel, fulfill this promise to your servant David."  (see all 2 Chronicles 6)
Psalm 25:10
The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
    all who keep his covenant and obey his commands.  (see all Psalm 25)
Acts 2:29-31
    "Dear brothers, think about this! You can be sure that the patriarch David wasn't referring to himself, for he died and was buried, and his tomb is still here among us. But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David's own descendants would sit on his throne. David was looking into the future and speaking of the Messiah's resurrection. He was saying that God would not leave him among the dead or allow his body to rot in the grave."  (see all Acts 2)

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!"

Psalm 132:6-9 Part 2 of 2

We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah;
    then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.
Let us go to the sanctuary of the LORD;
    let us worship at the footstool of his throne.
Arise, O LORD, and enter your resting place
    along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.
May your priests be clothed in godliness;
    may your loyal servants sing for joy.

Arise, O LORD, and enter your resting place along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.
2 Chronicles 6:41-42
"And now arise, O LORD God and enter your resting place,
    along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.
May your priests, O LORD God be clothed with salvation;
    may your loyal servants rejoice in your goodness.
O LORD God, do not reject the king you have anointed.
    Remember your unfailing love for your servant David."
    (see all 2 Chronicles 5-7)

May your priests be clothed in godliness; may your loyal servants sing for joy.
Zechariah 3:4-7
So the angel said to the others standing there, "Take off his filthy clothes." And turning to Jeshua he said, "See, I have taken away your sins, and now I am giving you these fine new clothes."
    Then I said, "They should also place a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean priestly turban on his head and dressed him in new clothes while the angel of the LORD stood by.
    Then the angel of the LORD spoke very solemnly to Jeshua and said, "This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies says: If you follow my ways and carefully serve me, then you will be given authority over my Temple and its courtyards. I will let you walk among these others standing here."
(see all Zechariah 3)
Malachi 3:3-4
He will sit like a refiner of silver, burning away the dross. He will purify the Levites, refining them like gold and silver, so that they may once again offer acceptable sacrifices to the LORD. Then once more the LORD will accept the offerings brought to him by the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as he did in the past.  (see all Malachi 3)
Isaiah 61:10
I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God!
    For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation
    and draped me in a robe of righteousness.
I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding
    or a bride with her jewels.  (see all Isaiah 61)
Psalm 30:4
Sing to the LORD, all you godly ones!
    Praise his holy name.  (see all Psalm 30)

Psalm 132:6-9 Part 1 of 2

We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah;
    then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.
Let us go to the sanctuary of the LORD;
    let us worship at the footstool of his throne.
Arise, O LORD, and enter your resting place
    along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.
May your priests be clothed in godliness;
    may your loyal servants sing for joy.

We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah; then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.
1 Samuel 6:21-7:2
    So they sent messengers to the people at Kiriath-jearim and told them, "The Philistines have returned the Ark of the LORD. Come here and get it!"
    So the men of Kiriath-jearim came to get the Ark of the LORD. They took it to the hillside home of Abinadab and ordained Eleazar, his son, to be in charge of it. The Ark remained in Kiriath-jearim for a long time--twenty years in all. During that time all Israel mourned because it seemed the LORD had abandoned them.  (see all 1 Samuel 4-7)

Let us go to the sanctuary of the LORD; let us worship at the footstool of his throne.
1 Chronicles 13:5, 7
So David summoned all Israel, from the Shiloh Brook of Egypt in the south all the way to the town of Lebo-hamath in the north, to join in bringing the Ark of God from Kiriath-jearim. ... They placed the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it to Abinadab's house. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart.
(see all 1 Chronicles 11)
1 Chronicles 16:1
    They brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God.  (see 1 Chronicles 14-17)
Psalm 99:1-5
The LORD is King!
    Let the nations tremble!
He sits on his throne between the cherubim.
    Let the whole earth quake!
The LORD sits in majesty in Jerusalem,
    exalted above all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name.
    Your name is holy!
Mighty King, lover of justice,
    you have established fairness.
You acted with justice
    and righteousness throughout Israel.
Exalt the LORD our God!
    Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!  (see all Psalm 99)

Psalm 132:1-5 Part 3 of 3

LORD, remember David
    and all that he suffered.
He made a solemn promise to the LORD.
    He vowed to the Mighty One of Israel,
"I will not go home;
    I will not let myself rest.
I will not let my eyes sleep
    nor close my eyes in slumber
until I find a place to build a house for the LORD,
    a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel."

I will not let my eyes sleep nor close my eyes in slumber until I find a place to build a house for the LORD, a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel."  (continued from Part 2)
1 Kings 8:17-21
    Then Solomon said, "My father, David, wanted to build this Temple to honor the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. But the LORD told him, 'You wanted to build the Temple to honor my name. Your intention is good, but you are not the one to do it. One of your own sons will build the Temple to honor me.'
    "And now the LORD has fulfilled the promise he made, for I have become king in my father's place, and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the LORD promised. I have built this Temple to honor the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. And I have prepared a place there for the Ark, which contains the covenant that the LORD made with our ancestors when he brought them out of Egypt."  (see all 1 Kings 8)
Acts 7:46-50
    "David found favor with God and asked for the privilege of building a permanent Temple for the God of Jacob. But it was Solomon who actually built it. However, the Most High doesn't live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says,
    'Heaven is my throne,
        and the earth is my footstool.
    Could you build me a temple as good as that?'
        asks the LORD.
    'Could you build me such a resting place?
        Didn't my hands make both heaven and earth?' "  (Isaiah 66:1-2)
        (see all Acts 7)

Isaiah 49:25-26
But the LORD says,

For I will fight those who fight you,

I will feed your enemies with their own flesh.
    They will be drunk with rivers of their own blood.
All the world will know that I, the LORD,
    am your Savior and your Redeemer,
    the Mighty One of Israel!"  (see all Isaiah 49)
Isaiah 60:16
"Powerful kings and mighty nations
    will satisfy your every need,

    the Mighty One of Israel."  (see all Isaiah 60)

I will not let my eyes sleep nor close my eyes in slumber until I find a place to build a house for the LORD, a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel."
2 Samuel 7:1-2

2 Samuel 7:12-13

Psalm 132:1-5 Part 1 of 3

LORD, remember David
    and all that he suffered.
He made a solemn promise to the LORD.
    He vowed to the Mighty One of Israel,
"I will not go home;
    I will not let myself rest.
I will not let my eyes sleep
    nor close my eyes in slumber
until I find a place to build a house for the LORD,
    a sanctuary for the Mighty One of Israel."

LORD, remember David and all that he suffered.
1 Samuel 18:10-11
    The very next day a tormenting spirit from God overwhelmed Saul, and he began to rave in his house like a madman. David was playing the harp, as he did each day. But Saul had a spear in his hand, and he suddenly hurled it at David, intending to pin him to the wall. But David escaped him twice.
(see all 1 Samuel 18)
1 Samuel 19:9-10
    But one day when Saul was sitting at home, with spear in hand, the tormenting spirit from the LORD suddenly came upon him again. As David played his harp, Saul hurled his spear at David. But David dodged out of the way and leaving the spear stuck in the wall, he fled and escaped into the night.  (see all 1 Samuel 19-20)
1 Samuel 30:1-2
    Three days later, when David and his men arrived home at their town of Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid into the Negev and Ziklag; they had crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground. They had carried off the women and children and everyone else but without killing anyone.  (see all 1 Samuel 30)
2 Samuel 15:13-15
A messenger soon arrived in Jerusalem to tell David, "All Israel has joined Absalom in a conspiracy against you!"
    "Then we must flee at once, or it will be too late!" David urged his men. "Hurry! If we get out of the city before Absalom arrives, both we and the city of Jerusalem will be spared from disaster."
    "We are with you," his advisors replied. "Do what you think is best."
    (see all 2 Samuel 15)
