Psalm 99:6-8 Part 1 of 2

Moses and Aaron were among his priests;
    Samuel also called on his name.
They cried to the LORD for help,
    and he answered them.
He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud,
    and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them.
O LORD our God, you answered them.
    You were a forgiving God to them,
    but you punished them when they went wrong.

Moses and Aaron were among his priests;
Exodus 3:9-10  "Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt."
[see all chapter 3]
Exodus 4:16  "Aaron will be your spokesman to the people. He will be your mouthpiece, and you will stand in the place of God for him, telling him what to say."  [see all chapter 4]
Exodus 28:1  "Call your brother, Aaron, and his sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Set them apart from the rest of the people of Israel so they may minister to me and be my priests."  [see all chapter 28]
Hebrews 5:4  And no one can become a high priest simply because he wants such an honor. He must be called by God for this work, just as Aaron was.  [see verses 1-10]

Samuel also called on his name.
1 Samuel 3:20-21  And all Israel, from Dan in the north to Beersheba in the south, knew that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the LORD. The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh and gave messages to Samuel there at the Tabernacle.  [see all chapter 3]
1 Samuel 7:5-6  Then Samuel told them, "Gather all of Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD for you." So they gathered at Mizpah and, in a great ceremony, drew water from a well and poured it out before the LORD. They also went without food all day and confirmed that they had sinned against the LORD. (It was at Mizpah that Samuel became Israel's judge.)
[see all chapter 7]

They cried to the LORD for help, and he answered them.
Psalm 4:3
You can be sure of this:
    The LORD set apart the godly for himself.
    The LORD will answer when I call to him.  [see all Psalm 4]
Psalm 91:14-15
The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love me.
    I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them."  [see all Psalm 91]
