Psalm 99:6-8 Part 2 of 2

Moses and Aaron were among his priests;

    Samuel also called on his name.

They cried to the LORD for help,

    and he answered them.

He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud,

    and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them.

O LORD our God, you answered them.

    You were a forgiving God to them,

    but you punished them when they went wrong.

 

He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the laws and decrees he gave them.

Exodus 13:21  The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night.  (see verses 17-22)

Exodus 19:9  Then the LORD said to Moses, "I will come to you in a thick cloud, Moses, so the people themselves can hear me when I speak with you. Then they will always trust you."  (see all chapter 19)

Numbers 11:25  And the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to Moses. Then he gave the seventy elders the same Spirit that was on Moses. And when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But this never happened again.  (see all chapter 11)

Exodus 22:25-27  "If you lend money to any of my people who are in need, do not charge interest as a money lender would. If you take your neighbor's cloak as security for a loan, you must return it before sunset. This coat may be the only blanket your neighbor has. How can a person sleep without it? If you do not return it and your neighbor cries out to me for help, then I will hear, for I am merciful."  (see all chapter 22)

Numbers 14:20-23  Then the LORD said, "I will pardon them as you have requested. But as surely as I live, and as surely as the earth is filled with the LORD's glory, not one of these people will ever enter that land. They have all seen my glorious presence and the miraculous signs I performed both in Egypt and in the wilderness, but again and again they have tested me by refusing to listen to my voice.
