Psalm 119:153-160 Part 3

Look upon my suffering and rescue me,

    for I have not forgotten your instructions.

Argue my case; take my side!

    Protect my life as you promised.

The wicked are far from rescue,

    for they do not bother with your decrees.

LORD, how great is your mercy;

    let me be revived by following your regulations.

Many persecute and trouble me,

    yet I have not swerved from your laws.

Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart,

    because they care nothing for your word.

See how I love your commandments, LORD.

    Give back my life because of your unfailing love.

The very essence of your words is truth;

    all your just regulations will stand forever. 

 

The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees.

Psalm 119:94 

I am yours; rescue me!

    For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.

Psalm 119:118 

But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees.

    They are only fooling themselves.  (see Psalm 119:113-120)

 

LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations.  

2 Samuel 24:14  

    "I'm in a desperate situation!" David replied to Gad. "But let us fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is great. Do not let me fall into human hands."  (see 2 Samuel 24:1-17) 

Psalm 51:1  

Have mercy on me, O God,

    because of your unfailing love.

I lie in the dust;

In your faithful love, O LORD, hear my cry;

    let me be revived by following your regulations.  Psalm 119:145-152)

James 5:11  

We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy.
