Psalm 129:1-4

From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me.

    Let all Israel repeat this:

From my earliest youth my enemies have persecuted me,

    but they have never defeated me.

My back is covered with cuts,

    as if a farmer had plowed long furrows.

But the LORD is good;

    he has cut me free from the ropes of the ungodly.

Exodus 1:11-14

    So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply centers for the king. But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became. So the Egyptians worked the people of Israel with out mercy. They made their lives bitter, forcing them to mix mortar and make bricks and do all the work in the fields. They were ruthless in all their demands.  (see all Exodus 1)

Psalm 124:2  

What if the LORD had not been on our side

    when people attacked us?  (see all Psalm 124)

Jeremiah 1:19  

"They will fight you, but they will fail.

    For I am with you, and I will take care of you."  (see all Jeremiah 1)

Jeremiah 15:20  

"They will fight against you like an attacking army,

    but I will make you as secure as a fortified wall of bronze.

They will not conquer you,

    for I am with you to protect and rescue you.

    I, the LORD, have spoken!"  (see Jeremiah 15:10-21)

Jeremiah 20:11  

But the LORD stands beside me like a great warrior.

    Before him my persecutors will stumble.

    They cannot defeat me.

They will fail and be thoroughly humiliated.

    Their dishonor will never be forgotten.  (see all Jeremiah 20)

    Then Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron. "This time I have sinned," he confessed. "The LORD is the righteous one, and my people and I are wrong. Please beg the LORD to end this terrifying thunder and hail. We've had enough. I will let you go; you don't need to stay any longer."

For the wicked will be destroyed,
