Psalm 132:6-9 Part 1 of 2

We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah;
    then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.
Let us go to the sanctuary of the LORD;
    let us worship at the footstool of his throne.
Arise, O LORD, and enter your resting place
    along with the Ark, the symbol of your power.
May your priests be clothed in godliness;
    may your loyal servants sing for joy.

We heard that the Ark was in Ephrathah; then we found it in the distant countryside of Jaar.
1 Samuel 6:21-7:2
    So they sent messengers to the people at Kiriath-jearim and told them, "The Philistines have returned the Ark of the LORD. Come here and get it!"
    So the men of Kiriath-jearim came to get the Ark of the LORD. They took it to the hillside home of Abinadab and ordained Eleazar, his son, to be in charge of it. The Ark remained in Kiriath-jearim for a long time--twenty years in all. During that time all Israel mourned because it seemed the LORD had abandoned them.  (see all 1 Samuel 4-7)

Let us go to the sanctuary of the LORD; let us worship at the footstool of his throne.
1 Chronicles 13:5, 7
So David summoned all Israel, from the Shiloh Brook of Egypt in the south all the way to the town of Lebo-hamath in the north, to join in bringing the Ark of God from Kiriath-jearim. ... They placed the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it to Abinadab's house. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart.
(see all 1 Chronicles 11)
1 Chronicles 16:1
    They brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God.  (see 1 Chronicles 14-17)
Psalm 99:1-5
The LORD is King!
    Let the nations tremble!
He sits on his throne between the cherubim.
    Let the whole earth quake!
The LORD sits in majesty in Jerusalem,
    exalted above all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name.
    Your name is holy!
Mighty King, lover of justice,
    you have established fairness.
You acted with justice
    and righteousness throughout Israel.
Exalt the LORD our God!
    Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!  (see all Psalm 99)
