Luke 1:78-80 Part 2 of 2

"Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace." John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel.

"and to guide us to the path of peace."

Isaiah 52:7  How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!

John 14:27  "I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."

Romans 5:1  Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.   

Ephesians 2:14  For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. 

Ephesians 2:17  He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and peace to the Jews who were near.

Luke 2:14  "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased."

 

John grew up and became strong in spirit.

Luke 2:40  There the child grew up healthy and strong. He was filled with wisdom and God's favor was upon him.

Luke 2:52  Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and all the people.

And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel. 

Matthew 3:1-2  In those days John the Baptist came to the Judean wilderness and began preaching. His message was, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near."

Matthew 11:9-10  "Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, 'Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.' " (Malachi 3:1)
