Once
Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his
disciples came to him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John
taught his disciples." Jesus said, "This is how you should pray: Father,
may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each
day the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who
sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation."
Jesus said, "This is how you should pray: Father, may your name be kept holy."
Matthew 6:9 "Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."
Luke 1:49 "For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me."
1 Peter 1:15-16 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy." (Leviticus 11:44-45; 19:2; 20:7)
"May your Kingdom come soon."
Daniel 7:14 He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal--it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.
Matthew 4:17 From then on, Jesus began to preach, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near."
Matthew 6:10 "May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."
Luke 17:20-21 One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, "When will the Kingdom of God come?" Jesus replied, "The Kingdom of God can't be detected by visible signs. You won't be able to say, 'Here it is!' or 'It's over there!' For the Kingdom of God is already among you."
"Give us each day the food we need,"
Proverbs 30:8 First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.
Matthew 6:33 "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." (see verses 19-34)
