Once
Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his
disciples came to him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John
taught his disciples." Jesus said, "This is how you should pray: Father,
may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each
day the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who
sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation."
"and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us."
Matthew 6:12 "and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."
Mark 11:25 "But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too."
Luke 7:47-50 "I tell you, her sins--and they are many--have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love." Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven." The men at the table said among themselves, "Who is this man, that he goes around forgiving sins?" And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." (see verses 36-50)
"And don't let us yield to temptation."
Matthew 6:13 "And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."
Matthew 26:41 "Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. for the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!" (see also Mark 14:38; Luke 22:46)
Luke 22:39-40 Then, accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the upstairs room and went as usual to the Mount of Olives. There he told them, "Pray that you will not give in to temptation."
1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure it.
