Luke 11:17-20 Part 1 of 2

He knew their thoughts so he said, "Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A family splintered by feuding will fall apart. You say I am empowered by Satan. But if Satan is divided and fighting against himself, how can his kingdom survive? And if I am empowered by Satan, what about your own exorcists? They cast out demons, too, so they will condemn you for what you have said. But if I am casting out demons by the power of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you."

He knew their thoughts,
Matthew 9:4  Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, "Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?" (see verses 1-8)
Psalm 94:11  The LORD knows people's thoughts; he knows they are worthless!
Luke 6:8  But Jesus knew their thoughts. He said to the man with the deformed hand, "Come and stand in front of everyone." So the man came forward. (see verses 6-11)
Luke 9:47  But Jesus knew their thoughts, so he brought a little child to his side. (see verses 46-48)
John 2:24-25  But Jesus didn't trust them (vs 23), because he knew human nature. No one needed to tell him what mankind is really like.

"But if Satan is divided and fighting against himself, how can his kingdom survive?"
Matthew 4:10  "Get out of here, Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve him only." (Deuteronomy 6:13)
Matthew 16:23  Jesus turned to Peter and said, "Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God's."
Luke 22:3  Then Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve disciples, ... (see verses 1-6)
Luke 22:31-32  "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers."
