They follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother.
Genesis 4:8 One day Cain suggested to his brother, "Let's go out into the fields." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother, Abel, and killed him. (see verses 1-16)
1 John 3:12 We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.
Like Balaam, they deceive people for money.
Numbers 22:7 Balak's messengers, who were elders of Moab and Midian, set out with money to pay Balaam to place a curse upon Israel. (see verses 2-6) They went to Balaam and delivered Balak's message to him. (see all chapters 22-24)
2 Peter 2:15-16 They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. (see Numbers 22-21-34)
Revelation 2:14 "But I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you whose teaching is like that of Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to sin by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin."
And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion.
Numbers 16:1-2 One day Korah son of Izhar, a descendant of Kohath son of Levi, conspired with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth, from the tribe of Reuben. They incited a rebellion against Moses, along with 250 other leaders of the community, all prominent members of the assembly. (see verses 1-17)
Numbers 16:23-24 And the LORD said to Moses, "Then tell all the people to get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram." (see verses 18-24)
Numbers 16:32 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the men, along with their households and all their followers who were standing with them, and everything they owned. (see verses 25-34)
