Lamentations 1:11-14 Part 1 of 2

                                 LAMENTATIONS
The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
                                     His mercies never cease.
                                    Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
                                        Lamentations 3:22-23

Her people groan as they search for bread.
They have sold their treasures for food to stay alive.
"O LORD, look," she mourns,
"and see how I am despised."
"Does it mean nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Look around to see if there is any suffering like mine,
which the LORD brought on me
when he erupted in fierce anger.
He has sent fire from heaven that burns in my bones.
He has placed a trap in my path and turned me back.
He has left me devastated,
racked with sickness all day long.
He wove my sins into ropes
to hitch me to a yoke of captivity.
The LORD has sapped my strength and turned me over to my enemies;
I am helpless in their hands."

Her people groan as they search for bread. They have sold their treasures for food to stay alive.
Jeremiah 38:9
"My lord the king," he (Ebed-melech) said, "these men have done a very evil thing in putting Jeremiah the prophet into the cistern. He will soon die of hunger, for almost all the bread in the city is gone."
(see Jeremiah 37:11-38:13, also Jeremiah 39:15-18)
Jeremiah 52:6
By July 18 in the eleventh year of Zedekiah's reign, the famine in the city had become very severe, and the last of the food was entirely gone.
(see Jeremiah 52:1-7)
John 6:32-33
Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, Moses didn't give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
John 6:51
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh."   (see John 6:22-59)

"O LORD, look," she mourns, "and see how I am despised. Does it mean nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around to see if there is any suffering like mine, which the LORD brought on me when he erupted in fierce anger."
Isaiah 10:4
You will stumble along as prisoners
    or lie among the dead.
But even then the LORD's anger will not be satisfied.
His fist is still poised to strike.  (see Isaiah 9:8-10:4)
Isaiah 13:13
"For I will shake the heavens.
The earth will move from its place
when the LORD of Heaven's Armies displays his wrath
in the day of his fierce anger."  (see all Isaiah 13)
Jeremiah 4:8
So put on clothes of mourning
    and weep with broken hearts,
for the fierce anger of the LORD
is still upon us.  (see all Jeremiah 4)
Jeremiah 18:16
"Therefore, their land will become desolate,
    a monument to their stupidity.
All who pass by will be astonished
and will shake their heads in amazement."  (see Jeremiah 18:1-17)
Jeremiah 30:23-24
Look! The LORD's anger bursts out like a storm,
a driving wind that swirls down on the heads of the wicked.
The fierce anger of the LORD will not diminish
until it has finished all he has planned.
In the days to come
you will understand all this.  (see all Jeremiah 30)
