Lamentations 1:15-16 Part 1 of 2

                                        LAMENTATIONS
The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
                                     His mercies never cease.
                                    Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
                                        Lamentations 3:22-23
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely
with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow
with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

"The LORD has treated my mighty men
    with contempt.
At his command a great army has come
    to crush my young warriors.
The LORD has trampled his beloved city
like grapes are trampled in a winepress.
For all these things I weep;
    tears flow down my cheeks.
No one is here to comfort me;
any who might encourage me are far away.
My children have no future,
for the enemy has conquered us."

"The LORD has treated my mighty men with contempt. At his command a great army has come to crush my young warriors."
Isaiah 41:2-4
"Who has stirred up this king from the east,
rightly calling him to God's service?
Who gives this man victory over many nations
and permits him to trample their kings underfoot?
With his sword, he reduces armies to dust.
With his bow, he scatters them like chaff before the wind.
He chases them away and goes on safely,
though he is walking over unfamiliar ground.
Who has done such mighty deeds,
summoning each new generation from the beginning of time?
It is I, the LORD, the First and the Last.
I alone am he."  (see all Isaiah 41)
Isaiah 46:11
"I will call a swift bird of prey from the east--
a leader from a distant land to come and do my bidding.
I have said what I would do,
and I will do it."  (see all Isaiah 46)
Isaiah 30:16
"You said, 'No, we will get help from Egypt.
They will give us swift horses for riding into battle.'
But the only swiftness you are going to see
is the swiftness of your enemies chasing you!"  (see all Isaiah 30)
Jeremiah 37:9-10
"This is what the LORD says: Do not fool yourselves into thinking that the Babylonians are gone for good. They aren't! Even if you were to destroy the entire Babylonian army, leaving only a handful of wounded survivors, they would still stagger from their tents and burn this city to the ground!"
(see Jeremiah 37:1-10)
Jeremiah 18:21
So let their children starve!
Let them die by the sword!
Let their wives become childless widows.
Let their old men die in a plague,
and let their young men be killed in battle!  (see all Jeremiah 18)

The LORD his trampled his beloved city like grapes are trampled in a winepress.
Isaiah 5:5
Now let me tell you
what I will do to my vineyard:
I will tear down its hedges
    and let it be destroyed.
I will break down its walls
and let the animals trample it."  (see Isaiah 5:1-7)
Isaiah 28:18
"I will cancel the bargain you made to cheat death,
and I will overturn your deal to dodge the grave.
When the terrible enemy sweeps through,
you will be trampled into the ground."  (see Isaiah 28:14-22)
Luke 21:24
"They will be killed by the sword or sent away as captives to all the nations of the world. And Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the period of the Gentiles comes to an end."  (see Luke 21:5-36)
Revelation 11:1-2
Then I was given a measuring stick, and I was told, "Go and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers. But do not measure the outer courtyard, for it has been turned over to the nations. They will trample the holy city for 42 months."  (see all Revelation 11)
