LAMENTATIONS
The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Lamentations 3:22-23
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely
with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow
with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
with contempt.
At his command a great army has come
to crush my young warriors.
The LORD has trampled his beloved city
like grapes are trampled in a winepress.
For all these things I weep;
tears flow down my cheeks.
No one is here to comfort me;
any who might encourage me are far away.
My children have no future,
for the enemy has conquered us."
"For all these things I weep, tears flow down my cheeks."
Psalm 119:136
Rivers of tears gush from my eyes because people disobey your instructions. (see Psalm 119:129-136)
Ecclesiastes 4:1
Again, I observed all the oppression that takes place under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed, with no one to comfort them. The oppressors have great power and their victims are helpless. (see Ecclesiastes 4:1-3)
Isaiah 22:4
That's why I said, "Leave me alone to weep;
do not try to comfort me.
Let me cry for my people
as I watch them being destroyed." (see Isaiah 22:1-14)
Lamentations 2:18
Cry aloud before the LORD,
O walls of beautiful Jerusalem!
Let your tears flow like a river
day and night.
Give yourself no rest;
give your eyes no relief.
Lamentations 2:48
Tears stream from my eyes
because of the destruction of my people.
No one is here to comfort me; any who might encourage me are far away.

She sobs through the night;
tears stream down her cheeks.

there is no one left to comfort her.
all her friends have betrayed her
and become her enemies. (see all Lamentations 1)
"My children have no future, for the enemy has conquered us."
Lamentations 2:11-12
I have cried until the tears no longer come;
my heart is broken.
My spirit is poured out in agony
as I see the desperate plight of my people.
Little children and tiny babies
are fainting and dying in the streets.
They cry out to their mothers,
"We need food and drink!"
Their lives ebb away in the streets
like the life of a warrior wounded in battle.
They gasp for life
as they collapse in their mothers' arms.
Lamentations 2:19
Rise during the night and cry out.
Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord.
Lift up your hands to him in prayer,
pleading for your children,
for in every street
they are faint with hunger. (see all Lamentations 2)
