Psalm 139:7-12 Part 3 of 3

I can never escape from your Spirit!

    I can never get away from your presence!

If I go up to heaven, you are there;

    if I go down to the grave, you are there.

If I ride the wings of the morning,

    if I dwell by the farthest oceans,

even there your hand will guide me,

    and your strength will support me.

I could ask the darkness to hide me

    and the light around me to become night--

    but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.

To you the night shines as bright as day.

    Darkness and light are the same to you.

Job 22:12-14

"God is so great--higher than the heavens,

    higher than the farthest stars.

But you reply, 'That's why God can't see what I'm doing!

    How can he judge through the thick darkness?

For thick clouds swirl about him, and he cannot see us.

Job 34:21-22  

"For God watches how people live;

    he sees everything they do.

No darkness is thick enough

Daniel 2:22  

"He reveals deep and mysterious things

    and knows what lies hidden in darkness,

    though he is surrounded by light."  (see all Daniel 2)

1 John 1:5-7  

This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.  (see all 1 John 1)
