Psalm 97:10-12 Part 1 of 3

You who love the LORD, hate evil!
    He protects the lives of his godly people
    and rescues them from the power of the wicked.
Light shines on the godly,
    and joy on those whose hearts are right.
May all who are godly rejoice in the LORD
    and praise his holy name!
 
You who love the LORD, hate evil!
Job 28:28    
"And this is what he says to all humanity: 
'The fear of the LORD is true wisdom;

Psalm 97:8-9

Jerusalem has heard and rejoiced,
    and all the towns of Judah are glad
    because of your justice, O LORD!

Psalm 97:6-7

The heavens proclaim his righteousness;
    every nation sees his glory.
Those who worship idols are disgraced--
    all who brag about their worthless gods--
    for every god must bow to him.

The LORD has announced his victory

Psalm 97:3-5 Part 2 of 2

Fire spreads ahead of him
    and burns up all his foes.
His lightning flashes out across the world.
    The earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,
    before the Lord of all the earth.

The earth quaked and trembled.
    The foundations of the mountains shook;

Jeremiah 10:10  
But the LORD is the only true God.
    He is the living God and the everlasting King!
The whole earth trembles at his anger.

Psalm 97:3-5 Part 1 of 2

Fire spreads ahead of him

Isaiah 9:19    
The land will be blackened
    by the fury of the LORD of Heaven's Armies.
The people will be fuel for the fire,
    and no one will spare even his own brother.  (see verses 18-21)

The LORD is king!
    Let the earth rejoice!
    Let the farthest coastlands be glad.
Dark clouds surround him.
    Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
