Psalm 95:10-11 Part 1 of 2

"For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,
'They are a people whose hearts turn away from me.
    They refuse to do what I tell them.'
So in my anger I took an oath:
    'They will never enter my place of rest.' "
 
"For forty hears, I was angry with them,"
Exodus 16:35  So the people of Israel ate manna for forty years until they arrived at the land where they would settle. They ate manna until they came to the border of Canaan.  (see all chapter 16)
Numbers 14:34  " 'Because your men explored the land for forty days, you must wander in the wilderness for forty years--a year for each day, suffering the consequences of your sins. Then you will discover what it is like to have me for an enemy.' " (see chapters 13-14)
Acts 7:36  And by means of many wonders and miraculous signs, he led them out of Egypt, through the Red Sea, and through the wilderness for forty years.  (see all chapter 7)
