Psalm 97:6-7

The heavens proclaim his righteousness;

    every nation sees his glory.

Those who worship idols are disgraced--

    all who brag about their worthless gods--

    for every god must bow to him.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.

Romans 1:19-20  They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.  (see verses 16-32)

Leviticus 26:1  "Do not make idols or set up carved images, or sacred pillars, or sculptured stones in your land so you may worship them. I am the LORD your God."  (see all chapter 26)

Isaiah 48:5  

"That is why I told you what would happen;

    I told you beforehand what I was going to do.

Then you could never say, 'My idols did it,

    my wooden image and metal god commanded it to happen!' "

Habakkuk 2:18  

"What good is an idol carved by man,

    or a cast image that deceives you?

How foolish to trust in your own creation--

    a god that can't even talk!"  (see verses 18-20)

Isaiah 42:17  

But those who trust in idols,

    who say, 'You are our gods,'

    will be turned away in shame.  (see verses 14-25)

Jeremiah 10:14  

The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge!

    The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make,

for their carefully shaped works are a fraud.

    These idols have no breath or power. (see verses 1-16)

Hebrews 1:6  And when he brought his supreme Son into the world, God said,

    "Let all of God's angels worship him."  (see all chapter 1)

Exodus 12:12  "On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the LORD!"

Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods.

    I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood
