Psalm 95:10-11 Part 2 of 2

"For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,

'They are a people whose hearts turn away from me.

    They refuse to do what I tell them.'

So in my anger I took an oath:

    'They will never enter my place of rest.' "

Psalm 81:13  

"Oh, that my people would listen to me!

Hebrews 3:10  "So I was angry with them, and I said,

Numbers 14:23  "They will never even see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have treated me with contempt will ever see it."  (see all chapter 14)

Numbers 32:11  " 'Of all those I rescued from Egypt, no one who is twenty years old or older will ever see the land I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for they have not obeyed me wholeheartedly.' " (see verses 1-30)

Deuteronomy 1:34-35  When the LORD heard your complaining, he became very angry. So he solemnly swore, 'Not one of you from this wicked generation will live to see the good land I swore to give your ancestors, ...' "

Psalm 106:26-27  

Therefore, he solemnly swore

    that he would kill them in the wilderness,

that he would scatter their descendants among the nations,

Hebrews 3:11  

"So in my anger I took an oath:

    'They will never enter my place of rest.' " (see all chapter 3)

Hebrews 4:3-5  For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said,

    "In my anger I took an oath:

        'They will never enter my place of rest,' "

even though this rest has been ready since he made the world. We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: "On the seventh day God rested from all his work." (Genesis 2:1-3) But in the other passage God said, "They will never enter my place of rest."
