Psalm 119:129-136 Part 4A

                    PE
Your laws are wonderful.
    No wonder I obey them!
The teaching of your word gives light,
    so even the simple can understand.
I pant with expectation,
    longing for your commands.
Come and show me your mercy,
    as you do for all who love your name.
Guide my steps by your word,
     so I will not be overcome by evil.
Ransom me from the oppression of evil people;
    then I can obey your commandments.
Look upon me with love;
    teach me your decrees.
Rivers of tears gush from my eyes
    because people disobey your instructions.

Rivers of tears gush from my eyes ...
Jeremiah 9:1
If only my head were a pool of water
    and my eyes a fountain of tears,
I would weep day and night
    for all my people who have been slaughtered.
Jeremiah 9:18
"Quick! Begin your weeping!
    Let the tears flow from your eyes."  (see all Jeremiah 9)
Jeremiah 13:17
And if you still refuse to listen,
    I will weep alone because of your pride.
My eyes will overflow with tears,
    because the LORD's flock will be led away into exile.  (see all Jeremiah 13)
Jeremiah 14:17
"Now Jeremiah, say this to them:
    "Night and day my eyes overflow with tears.
        I cannot stop weeping,
    for my virgin daughter--my precious people--
        has been struck down
        and lies mortally wounded."  (see all Jeremiah 14)
Lamentations 3:48
Tears stream from my eyes
    because of the destruction of my people!  (see all Lamentations 3)
Psalm 6:6
I am worn out from sobbing.
    All night I flood my bed with weeping,
    drenching it with my tears.  (see all Psalm 6)
Isaiah 22:4
That's why I said, "Leave me alone to weep;
    do not try to comfort me.
Let me cry for my people
    as I watch them being destroyed."  (see all Isaiah 22)
