Luke 9:23-25 Part 2 of 3

Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?"

"If you try to hand on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it."

John 3:16  "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:36  "And anyone who believes in God's Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn't obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God's angry judgment."

John 5:28-29  "Don't be surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment."

John 12:25  "Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity."

John 17:2-3  "For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one  you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life--to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth."

Romans 2:7-8  He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.

Galatians 6:8  Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

1 John 5:11-12  And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life.
