"Be
dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, as though you were
waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will
be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and
knocks. The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be
rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an
apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of
the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the
servants who are ready."
"The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded."
Matthew 24:45-47 "A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. Luke 14:15 Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, "What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!"
"I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat!"
Mark 10:42-45 So Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Luke 22:27 "Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course. But not here! For I am among you as one who serves."
