Luke 12:57-59 Part 1 of 2

"Why can't you decide for yourselves what is right? When you are on your way to court with your accuser, try to settle the matter before you get there. Otherwise, your accuser may drag you before the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, who will throw you into prison. And if that happens, you won't be free again until you have paid the very last penny."

"Why can't you decide for yourselves what is right?"
Luke 21:29-30  Then he gave them this illustration: "Notice the fig tree, or any other tree. When the leaves come out, you know without being told that summer is near."
John 7:24  "Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly." (see verses 21-24)
1 Kings 3:9  "Give me (Solomon) an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?" (see verses 5-15)
Proverbs 1:3  Their purpose (the proverbs of Solomon) is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them to do what is right, just, and fair.
Proverbs 28:5  Evil people don't understand justice, but those who follow the LORD understand completely.
Genesis 4:3-7  When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the LORD. Abel also brought a gift--the best of his firstborn lambs from his flock. The LORD accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. "Why are you so angry," the LORD asked Cain. "Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master."
