Psalm 88:10-12

Are your wonderful deeds of any use to the dead?

    Do the dead rise up and praise you?

Can those in the grave declare your unfailing love?

    Can they proclaim your faithfulness in the place of destruction?

Can the darkness speak of your wonderful deeds?

    Can anyone in the land of forgetfulness talk about your righteousness?

Psalm 6:4-5 

Return, O LORD, and rescue me.

    Save me because of your unfailing love.

For the dead do not remember you.

Psalm 30:9 

"What will you gain if I die,

    if I sink into the grave?

Can my dust praise you?

    Can it tell of your faithfulness?"  (see all Psalm 30)

Psalm 115:17  

The dead cannot sing praises to the LORD,

    for they have gone into the silence of the grave.  (see all Psalm 115)

Ecclesiastes 9:10  Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.

Isaiah 38:18  

For the dead cannot praise you;

    they cannot raise their voices in praise.

Those who go down to the grave

John 5:24  "I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life."  (see verses 16-47)
