Psalm 105:26-30 Part 2 of 2

But the LORD sent his servant Moses,
along with Aaron, whom he had chosen.
They performed miraculous signs among the Egyptians,
and wonders in the land of Ham.
The LORD blanketed Egypt in darkness,
for they had defied his commands to let his people go.
He turned their water to blood
    poisoning all the fish.
Then frogs overran the land
and even invaded the king's bedrooms.

The LORD blanketed Egypt in darkness, for they had defied his commands to let his people go.
Exodus 10:21-22  Then the LORD said to Moses, "Lift your hand toward heaven, and the land of Egypt will be covered with a darkness so thick you can feel it." So Moses lifted his hand to the sky, and a deep darkness covered the entire land of Egypt for three days.  (see verses 21-29)

Suddenly, the whole river turned to blood! The fish in the river died, and the water became so foul that the Egyptians couldn't drink it. There was blood everywhere throughout the land of Egypt.
(see verses 14-25)
Psalm 78:44
For he turned their rivers into blood,
so no one could drink from the streams.

Then frogs overran the land and even invaded the king's bedrooms.

He sent vast swarms of flies to consume them
and hordes of frogs to ruin them.

They performed miraculous signs among the Egyptians,
and wonders in the land of Ham.
The LORD blanketed Egypt in darkness,
for they had defied his commands to let his people go.
He turned their water to blood
    poisoning all the fish.
Then frogs overran the land
and even invaded the king's bedrooms.

But the LORD sent his servant Moses, along with Aaron, whom he had chosen.

Exodus 7:1-2  Then the LORD said to Moses, "Pay close attention to this. I will make you seem like God to Pharaoh, and your brother, Aaron, will be your prophet. Tell Aaron everything I command you, and Aaron must command Pharaoh to let the people of Israel leave his country."
Acts 7:34  " 'I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groans and have come down to rescue them. Now go, for I am sending you back to Egypt.' "  (see verses 30-36)

Psalm 105:23-25

Then Israel arrived in Egypt;
Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham.
And the LORD multiplied the people of Israel
until they became too mighty for their enemies.
Then he turned the Egyptians against the Israelites,
and they plotted against the LORD's servants.

Then Israel arrived in Egypt; Jacob lived as a foreigner in the land of Ham.
Genesis 46:5  So Jacob left Beersheba, and his sons took him to Egypt. They carried him and their little ones and their wives in the wagons Pharaoh had provided for them.  (see verses 1-27)
Acts 7:14  "Then Joseph sent for his father, Jacob, and all his relatives to come to Egypt, seventy-five persons in all."  (see verses 11-15)
Psalm 106:21-22
They forgot God, their savior,
who had done such great things in Egypt--
such wonderful things in the land of Ham,
such awesome deeds at the Red Sea.  (see all Psalm 106)

And the LORD multiplied the people of Israel until they became too mighty for their enemies.
Genesis 47:27  Meanwhile, the people of Israel settled in the region of Goshen in Egypt. There they acquired property, and they were fruitful, and their population grew rapidly.  (see verses 1-12)
Exodus 1:7  But their descendants, the Israelites, had many children and grandchildren. In fact, they multiplied so greatly that they became extremely powerful and filled the land.
Acts 7:17  "As the time drew near when God would fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt greatly increased."

Then he turned the Egyptians against the Israelites, and they plotted against the LORD's servants.
Exodus 1:8-12  Eventually a new king came to power in Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph or what he had done. He said to his people, "Look, the people of Israel now outnumber us and are stronger than we are. We must make a plan to keep them from growing even more. If we don't, and if war breaks out, they will join our enemies and fight against us. Then they will escape from the country."
So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor. They forced them to build the cities of Pithom and Rameses as supply centers for the king. But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became.

Psalm 105:20-22

Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free;
the ruler of the nation opened his prison door.
Joseph was put in charge of all the king's household;
he became ruler over all the king's possessions.
He could instruct the king's aides as he pleased
    and teach the kings advisors.

Then Pharaoh sent for him and set him free; the ruler of the nation opened his prison door.
Genesis 40:8  And they replied, "We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean."
"Interpreting dreams is God's business," Joseph replied. "Go ahead and tell me your dreams."
Genesis 40:14  "And please remember me and do me a favor when things go well for you. Mention me to Pharaoh, so he might let me out of this place."
Genesis 40:23  Pharaoh's chief cup-bearer, however, forgot all about Joseph, never giving him another thought.  (see all chapter 40)
Genesis 41:1  Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River.
Genesis 41:8  The next morning Pharaoh was very disturbed by the dreams. So he called for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. When Pharaoh told them his dreams, not one of them could tell him what they meant.
Genesis 41:12  "There was a young Hebrew man with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he told us what each of our dreams meant."
Genesis 41:14-16  Pharaoh sent for Joseph at once, and he was quickly brought from the prison. After he had shaved and changed his clothes, he went in and stood before Pharaoh. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I had a dream last night, and no one here can tell me what it means. But I have heard that when you hear about a dream you can interpret it."
"It is beyond my power to do this," Joseph replied. "But God can tell you what it means and set you at ease."

Joseph was put in charge of all the king's household; he became ruler over all the king's possessions. He could instruct the king's aides as he pleased and teach the kings advisors.
Genesis 41:39-41  Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are. You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours."
Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt."  (see all chapter 41)

Psalm 105:16-19 Part 2 of 2

He called for a famine on the land of Canaan,
    cutting off its food supply.
Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them--
Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
They bruised his feet with fetters
and placed his neck in an iron collar.
Until the time came to fulfill his dreams,
    the LORD tested Joseph's character.

Until the time came to fulfill his dreams, the LORD tested Joseph's character.
Genesis 37:5-7  One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever. "Listen to this dream," he said. "We were out in the field, tying up bundles of grain. Suddenly my bundle stood up, and your bundles all gathered around and bowed low before mine!"
Genesis 37:9-11  Soon Joseph had another dream, and again he told his brothers about it. "Listen, I have had another dream," he said. "The sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed low before me!"
This time he told the dream to his father as well as to his brothers, but his father scolded him. "What kind of dream is that?" he asked him. "Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow to the ground before you?" But while his brothers were jealous, his father wondered what the dreams meant.
Genesis 37:18-19  When Joseph's brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him. "Here comes the dreamer!" they said.
Genesis 37:23-25  So when Joseph arrived, his brothers ripped off the beautiful robe he was wearing. Then they grabbed him and threw him into the cistern. Now the cistern was empty; there was no water in it. Then, just as they were sitting down to eat, they looked up and saw a caravan of camels in the distance coming toward them. It was a group of Ishmaelite traders taking a load of gum, balm, and aromatic resin from Gilead down to Egypt.

Psalm 105:16-19 Part 1 of 2

He called for a famine on the land of Canaan,
    cutting off its food supply.
Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them--
Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
They bruised his feet with fetters
and placed his neck in an iron collar.
Until the time came to fulfill his dreams,
    the LORD tested Joseph's character.

He called for a famine on the land of Canaan, cutting off its food supply.
Genesis 12:10  At that time a severe famine struck the land of Canaan, forcing Abram to go down to Egypt where he lived as a foreigner.
(see verses 1-10)
Genesis 41:30  "But afterward there will be seven years of famine so great that all the prosperity will be forgotten in Egypt."  (see verses 1-32)

Then he sent someone to Egypt ahead of them--Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
Genesis 37:28  So when the Ishmaelites, who were Midianite leaders, came by, Joseph's brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to them for twenty pieces of silver. And the traders took him to Egypt.  (see all chapter 37)
Genesis 39:1  When Joseph was taken to Egypt by the Ishmaelite traders, he was purchased by Potiphar, an Egyptian officer. Potiphar was captain of the guard for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.
Genesis 39:4-5  This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned. From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master's household and property, the LORD began to bless Potiphar's household for Joseph's sake. All his household affairs ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished.  (see verses 1-6)
Genesis 39:8-9  But Joseph refused, "Look," he told her, "my master trusts me with everything in his entire household. No one here has more authority than I do. He has held back nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How could I do such a wicked thing? It would be a great sin against God."  (see verses 7-18)

They bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar.
Genesis 39:19-20  Potiphar was furious when he heard his wife's story about how Joseph had treated her. So he took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king's prisoners were held, and there he remained.
Genesis 39:23  The warden had no more worries, because Joseph took care of everything. The LORD was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.  (see verses 19-23)

Psalm 105:12-15 Part 2 of 2

He said this when they were few in number,
a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.
They wandered from nation to nation,
    from one kingdom to another.
Yet he did not let anyone oppress them.
He warned kings on their behalf:
"Do not touch my chosen people,
and do not hurt my prophets."

Genesis 20:6-7  In the dream God responded, "Yes, I know you are innocent. That's why I kept you from sinning against me, and why I did not let you touch her. Now return the woman to her husband, and he will pray for you, for he is a prophet. Then you will live. But if you don't return her to him, you can be sure that you and all your people will die."  (see all chapter 20)
Genesis 35:5  As they set out, a terror from God spread over the people in all the towns of that area, so no one attacked Jacob's family.  (see verses 1-15)

you have erased their names forever.  (see all Psalm 9)

You attacked them and destroyed them,
and they are long forgotten.  (see all chapter 26)

"Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets."
1 Samuel 26:9  "No!" David said. "Don't kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the LORD's anointed one?"
(see all chapter 26, also chapter 24)
Deuteronomy 18:17-18  "Then the LORD said to me, 'What they have said is right. I will raise up a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell the people everything I command him.' " (see verses 9-22)
Deuteronomy 34:10  There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.  (see all chapter 34)
2 Kings 3:11  But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked, "Is there no prophet of the LORD with us? If there is, we can ask the LORD what to do through him."
One of King Joram's (king of Israel) officers replied, "Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah's personal assistant."  (see all chapter 3)

(see all chapter 23)
Genesis 34:30  Afterward Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, "You have ruined me! You've made me stink among all the people of this land--among all the Canaanites, and Perizzites. We are so few that they will join forces and crush us. I will be ruined, and my entire household will be wiped out!"
(see all chapter 34)
Hebrews 11:9  And even when he (Abraham) reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith--for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise.  (see verses 8-10)

They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.

Numbers 33:1-3, 48-49  This is the route the Israelites followed as they marched out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. At the LORD's direction, Moses kept a written record of their progress. These are the stages of their march, identified by the different places where they stopped along the way.
They set out from the city of Rameses in early spring--on the fifteenth day of the first month--on the morning after the first Passover celebration. The people of Israel left defiantly, in full view of all the Egyptians.
... They left the mountains east of the river and camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan, across from Jericho. Along the Jordan River they camped from Beth-jeshimoth as far as the meadows of Acacia on the plains of Moab.  (see all chapter 33)
