Psalm 110:4-7

The LORD has taken an oath and will not break his vow:

    "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek."

The LORD stands at your right hand to protect you.

    He will strike down many kings when his anger erupts.

He will punish the nations

    and fill their lands with corpses;

    he will shatter heads over the whole earth.

But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way.

    He will be victorious.

Genesis 14:18  And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine.  (see all Genesis 14)

Hebrews 5:6  And in another passage God said to him,

    "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek."

Hebrews 7:1-3  This Melchizedek was king of the city of Salem and also a priest of God Most High. When Abraham was returning home after winning a great battle against the kings, Melchizedek met him and blessed him. Then Abraham took a tenth of all he had captured in battle and gave it to Melchizedek. The name Melchizedek means "king of justice," and king of Salem means "king of peace." There is no record of his father or mother or any of his ancestors--no beginning or end to his life. He remains a priest forever, resembling the Son of God.  (see all Hebrews 7)

 

The LORD stands at your right hand to protect you. 

Psalm 3:3  

But you, O LORD are a shield around me;

    you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.  (see all Psalm 3)

Psalm 18:2  

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;

    my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.

He is my shield, the power that saves me,

    and my place of safety.  (see all Psalm 18)

Psalm 2:4-5  

But the one who rules in heaven laughs.

    The LORD scoffs at them.

Then in anger he rebukes them,

    terrifying them with his fierce fury.  (see all Psalm 2)

Zephaniah 3:8  

"Therefore, be patient," says the LORD.

    "Soon I will stand and accuse these evil nations.

For I have decided to gather the kingdoms of the earth

    and pour out my fiercest anger and fury on them.

All the earth will be devoured

    by the fire of my jealousy."  (see all Zephaniah 3)

Revelation 11:18  

"The nations were filled with wrath,

    but now the time of your wrath has come.

It is time to judge the dead

    and reward your servants the prophets,

    as well as your holy people,

and all who fear your name,

    from the least to the greatest.

It is time to destroy

    all who have caused destruction on the earth."  (see Revelation 11:15-19)

 

But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious.
