Luke 21:29-33 Part 1 of 2

Then he gave them this illustration: "Notice the fig tree, or any other tree. When the leaves come out, you know without being told that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things taking place (see verses 5-36), you can know that the Kingdom of God is near. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear."

Matthew 24:32  "Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near." (see also Mark 13:28)

1 Corinthians 15:50-51  What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God (see verses 42-49). These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we all will be transformed! (see verses 52-57)

Luke 21:27-28

"Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!"

As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men stood among them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why are you standing here staring into heaven? And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Ephesians 4:30  And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

Hebrews 9:27-28  And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. (see verses 24-27)

"And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken."

Isaiah 34:4  The heavens above will melt away and disappear like a rolled-up scroll. The stars will fall from the sky like withered leaves from a grapevine, or shriveled figs from a fig tree. (see verses 1-4)

Matthew 24:29  "Immediately after the anguish of those days (verses 15-28), the sun will be darkened, the moon will give no light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken." (see verses 26-31)

2 Peter 3:10-13  But the day of the LORD will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God's righteousness.

Revelation 6:13-14  Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind. The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places. (see verses 12-17)
