Luke 1:11-13 Part 4 of 8

While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him. But the angel said, "Don't be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John."

Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him
Judges 6:22-23  When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he cried out, "Oh, sovereign LORD, I'm doomed! I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!"  "It is all right," the LORD replied. "Do not be afraid. You will not die."
Judges 13:21-23  The angel did not appear again to Manoah and his wife. Manoah finally realized it was the angel of the LORD, and he said to his wife, "We will certainly die, for we have seen God!" But his wife said, "If the LORD were going to kill us, he wouldn't have accepted our burnt offering and grain offering. He wouldn't have appeared to us and told us this wonderful thing and done these miracles."
Matthew 28:4  The guards shook with fear when they saw him (the angel of the Lord), and they fell into a dead faint.
Mark 16:8  The women fled from the tomb, trembling and bewildered, and they said nothing to anyone because they were too frightened.
Luke 24:5-7  The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, "Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day."
Acts 19:17  The story of what happened (see verses 13-16) spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored.
