1 Samuel 2:8  "He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the LORD's, and he has set the world in order."  (also Psalm 113:7-8)

Job 5:11  "He gives prosperity to the poor and protects those who suffer."

Psalm 18:27  You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud.

Psalm 75:7  It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall.

Psalm 107:39-41  When they decrease in number and become impoverished through oppression, trouble, and sorrow, the LORD pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands. But he rescues the poor from trouble and increases their families like flocks of sheep. 

Psalm 147:6  The LORD mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble.

Isaiah 57:15  The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: "I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.

Ezekiel 21:26  This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "Take off your jeweled crown, for the old order changes. Now the lowly will be exalted, and the mighty will be brought down."

James 4:10  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

Matthew 23:12  "But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (also Luke 14:11)
