Luke 8:26-29 Part 2 of 2

So they arrived in the region of the Gerasenes, across the lake from Galilee. As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons came out to meet him. For a long time he had been homeless and naked, living in a cemetery outside the town. As soon as he saw Jesus, he shrieked and fell down in front of him. Then he screamed, "Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Please, I beg you, don't torture me!" For Jesus had already commanded the evil spirit to come out of him. This spirit had often taken control of the man. Even when he was placed under guard and put in chains and shackles, he simply broke them and rushed out into the wilderness, completely under the demon's power.

Then he screamed, "Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Please, I beg you, don't torture me!"
Matthew 8:29  They began screaming at him, "Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God's appointed time?"
Mark 5:7  With a shriek, he screamed, "Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don't torture me!"
Mark 1:23-24  Suddenly a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit began shouting, "Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"
Luke 4:33-34  Once when he was in the synagogue, a man possessed by a demon--an evil spirit--began shouting at Jesus, "Go away! Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"

For Jesus had already commanded the evil spirit to come out of him.
Mark 5:8  For Jesus had already said to the spirit, "Come out of the man, you evil spirit."
Luke 4:35  Jesus cut him short. "Be quiet! Come out of the man," he ordered. At that the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further.

This spirit had often taken control of the man. Even when he was placed under guard and put in chains and shackles, he simply broke them and rushed out into the wilderness, completely under the demon's power.
Mark 5:4  Whenever he was put into chains and shackles--as he often was--he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
