Jesus
went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always
pressing on toward Jerusalem. Someone asked him, "Lord, will only a few
be saved?" He replied, "Work hard to enter the narrow door to God's
Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail."
He replied, "Work hard to enter the narrow door to God's Kingdom,"
1 Timothy 4:10 This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers. (see verses 1-13)
1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses.
Hebrews 12:3-4 Think of all the hostility he (Jesus) endured from sinful people; then you won't become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin. (see verses 1-13)
1 Corinthians 9:25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
"for many will try to enter but will fail."
Matthew 25:10-12 "But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, 'Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!' But he called back, 'Believe me, I don't know you!' " (see verses 1-13)
Matthew 22:11-14 "But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn't wearing the proper clothes for a wedding. 'Friend,' he asked, 'how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?' But the man had no reply. Then the king said to his aides, 'Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' For many are called, but few are chosen."
