Luke 15:3-7 Part 2 of 2

So Jesus told them this story: "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.' In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!"

"And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders."
Isaiah 40:11  He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
Matthew 18:13  "And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn't wander away!"

"When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.' "
Luke 15:9  "And when she finds it, she will call in her friends and neighbors and say, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost coin.' "
Luke 15:32  " 'We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!' "
1 Peter 2:25  Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.

"In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!"
Matthew 9:13  Then he added, "Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: 'I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.' (Hosea 6:6) For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners."
Luke 5:32  "I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent."
Luke 15:10  "In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents."
Romans 3:19-20  Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. (see verses 9-31)
