Psalm 94:12-13 Part 1 of 2

Joyful are those you discipline, LORD,

    those you teach with your instructions.

You give them relief from troubled times

    until a pit is dug to capture the wicked.

 

Joyful are those you discipline, LORD, those you teach with your instructions.

Job 5:17  

"But consider the joy of those corrected by God!

    Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin."

Proverbs 3:11-12  

My child, don't reject the LORD's discipline,

    and don't be upset when he corrects you.

For the LORD corrects those he loves,

    just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.  (see all chapter 3)

Jeremiah 31:18-19  

"I have heard Israel saying,

'You disciplined me severely,

    like a calf that needs training for the yoke.

Turn me again to you and restore me,

    for you alone are the LORD my God.

I turned away from God,

    but then I was sorry.

    I was thoroughly ashamed of all I did in my younger days.' "

Hebrews 12:5-6  And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said,

    "My child, don't make light of the LORD's discipline,

        and don't give up when he corrects you.

    For the LORD disciplines those he loves,
