Habakkuk 2:9-11 Part 1 of 2

"What sorrow awaits you who build big houses with money gained dishonestly! You believe your wealth will buy security, putting your family's nest beyond the reach of danger. But by the murders you committed, you have shamed your name and forfeited your lives. The very stones in the walls cry out against you, and the beams in the ceilings echo the complaint."

James 5:4  For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The wages you held back cry out against you. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the LORD of Heaven's Armies. (see verses 1-5)

"You believe your wealth will buy security, putting your family's nest beyond the reach of danger."

Jeremiah 49:16  "You have been deceived by the fear you inspire in others and by your own pride. You live in a rock fortress and control mountain heights. But even if you make your nest among the peaks with the eagles, I will bring you crashing down." says the LORD. (see verses 7-22, also see Obadiah 1-21)
Psalm 49:6  They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. (see all chapter 49)
Psalm 52:7  "Look what happens to mighty warriors who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness." (see all chapter 52)
