Understanding this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

Proverbs 10:18-19 Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool. Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.
Proverbs 17:27-28 A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered. Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.
Proverbs 21:23 Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble.
James 1:26 If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
