James 1:22-25

But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
Matthew 7:21  "Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord! Lord!' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter." (see all chapter 7)
Matthew 12:50  "Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!" (see verses 46-50)
Romans 2:13  For merely listening to the law doesn't make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. (see all chapter 2)
1 John 3:18  Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. (see all chapter 3)
James 2:14  What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don't show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? (see verses 14-26)

For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free,
Psalm 19:7  The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. (see verses 7-14)
John 8:32  "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (see verses 31-47)
Galatians 2:4  Even that question came up (see verse 3) only because of some so-called Christians there--false ones, really--who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations. (see verses 1-10)

and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
John 13:17  "Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them." (see verses 1-17)
Matthew 7:24  "Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock." (see verses 24-29)
Luke 11:28  Jesus replied, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice."
