Psalm 105:39-41 Part 1 of 2

The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering
    and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.
They asked for meat, and he sent them quail;
    he satisfied their hunger with manna--bread from heaven.
He split open a rock, and water gushed out
    to form a river through the dry wasteland.

The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.
Exodus 13:21  The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire.  (see verses 17-22)
Nehemiah 9:12  "You led our ancestors by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night so that they could find their way."
(see verses 6-12)
Psalm 78:14  In the daytime he led them by a cloud, and all night by a pillar of fire.  (see verses 11-14)
1 Corinthians 10:1  I don't want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground.  (see verses 1-11)

They asked for meat, and he sent them quail;
Exodus 16:13  That evening vast numbers of quail flew in and covered the camp. And the next morning the area around the camp was wet with dew.  (see verses 1-13)
Numbers 11:31  Now the LORD sent a wind that brought the quail from the sea and let them fall all around the camp. For miles in every direction there were quail flying about three feet above the ground.  (see verses 31-35)
Psalm 78:18-19
They stubbornly tested God in their hearts,
    demanding the foods they craved.
They even spoke against God himself, saying,
    "God can't give us food in the wilderness."
Psalm 78:27-29
He rained down meat as thick as dust--
    birds as plentiful as the sand on the seashore!
He caused the birds to fall within their camp
    and all around their tents.
The people ate their fill.
    He gave them what they craved.  (see verses 17-31)
