Psalm 106:13-15 Part 2 of 2

Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done!
They wouldn't wait for his counsel!
In the wilderness their desires ran wild,
testing God's patience in that dry wasteland.
So he gave them what they asked for,
but he sent a plague with it.

In the wilderness their desires ran wild, testing God's patience in that dry wasteland.
Deuteronomy 9:7  "Remember and never forget how angry you made the LORD your God out in the wilderness. From the day you left Egypt until now, you have been constantly rebelling against him."  [see verses 7-29]
Joshua 24:19  Then Joshua warned the people, "You are not able to serve the LORD, for he is a holy and jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.  [see all chapter 24]
Psalm 78:40-41
Oh, how often they rebelled against him in the wilderness
and grieved his heart in that dry wasteland.
Again and again they tested God's patience
and provoked the Holy One of Israel.  [see verses 40-55]
1 Corinthians 10:9-11  Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites. And don't grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death. Those things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.  [see verses 1-13]

So he gave them what they asked for, but he sent a plague with it.
Psalm 105:40
They asked for meat, and he sent them quail;
he satisfied their hunger with manna--bread from heaven.
Exodus 16:13  That evening vast numbers of quail flew in and covered the camp. And the next morning the area around the camp was wet with dew.
Exodus 16:31  The Israelites called the food manna. It was white like coriander seed, and it tasted like honey wafers.  [see verses 9-31]
Numbers 11:33-34  But while they were gorging themselves on meat--while it was still in their mouths--the anger of the LORD blazed against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague. So that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah (which means "graves of gluttony") because there they buried the people who had craved meat from Egypt.  [see verses 31-35]
