Psalm 105:39-41 Part 2 of 2

The LORD spread a cloud above them as a covering
    and gave them a great fire to light the darkness.
They asked for meat, and he sent them quail;
    he satisfied their hunger with manna--bread from heaven.
He split open a rock, and water gushed out
    to form a river through the dry wasteland.

he satisfied their hunger with manna--bread from heaven.
Exodus 16:14-15  When the dew evaporated, a flaky substance as fine as frost blanketed the ground. The Israelites were puzzled when they saw it. "What is it?" they asked each other. They had no idea what it was.
    And Moses told them, "It is the food the LORD has given you to eat."
(see all chapter 16)
Deuteronomy 8:3  "Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD."
(see all chapter 8)
Nehemiah 9:15  "You gave them bread from heaven when they were hungry and water from the rock when they were thirsty. You commanded them to go and take possession of the land you had sworn to give them."
(see verses 7-15)
Psalm 78:24-25
He rained down manna for them to eat;
    he gave them bread from heaven.
They ate the food of angels!
    God gave them all they could hold.  (see verses 20-31)

He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland.
Exodus 17:6  "I will stand before you on the rock at Mount Sinai. Strike the rock, and water will come gushing out. Then the people will be able to drink." So Moses struck the rock as he was told, and water gushed out as the elders looked on.  (see verses 1-7)
Numbers 20:11  Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with the staff, and water gushed out. So the entire community and their livestock drank their fill.  (see verses 1-13)
Psalm 78:15-16
He split open the rocks in the wilderness
    to give them water, as from a gushing spring.
He made streams pour from the rock,
    making the waters flow down like a river!
Psalm 114:7-8
Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the LORD,
    at the presence of the God of Jacob.
He turned the rock into a pool of water;
    yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.  (see all Psalm 114)
