Psalm 106:8-9 Part 1 of 2

Even so, he saved them--

    to defend the honor of his name

    and to demonstrate his mighty power.

He commanded the Red Sea to dry up.

    He led Israel across the sea as if it were a desert.

 

Even so, he saved them--

Psalm 80:3  

Turn us again to yourself, O God.

    Make your face shine down upon us.

    Only then will we be saved.  (see all Psalm 80)

Psalm 107:13  

"LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble,

    and he saved them from their distress.  (see verses 10-16)

Isaiah 25:9  

In that day the people will proclaim,

"This is our God!

    We trusted in him and he saved us!

This is the LORD, in whom we trusted.

    Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings!"  (see all Psalm 25)

Lamentations 5:21  

Restore us, O LORD, and bring us back to you again!

    Give us back the joys we once had!  (see all chapter 5)

Joel 2:32  

But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD

    will be saved,

for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape,

    just as the LORD has said.

These will be among the survivors

    whom the LORD has called.  (see verses 18-32)

 

to defend the honor of his name 

Psalm 23:3  

    He renews my strength.

He guides me along right paths,

    bringing honor to his name.  (see all Psalm 23)

Ezekiel 20:9  "But I didn't do it, for I acted to protect the honor of my name. I would not allow shame to be brought on my name among the surrounding nations who saw me reveal myself by bringing the Israelites out of Egypt.  (see verses 1-44)

 

and to demonstrate his mighty power. 

Exodus 9:16  "But I have spared you (Pharaoh) for a purpose--to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth."  (see verses 13-19)

Exodus 14:30-31  That is how the LORD rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day. And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the seashore. When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the LORD had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the LORD and in his servant Moses.
