Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said, "Listen, we're going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true. He will be handed over to the Romans, and he will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon. They will flog him with a whip and kill him, but on the third day he will rise again." But they didn't understand any of this. The significance of his words was hidden from them, and they failed to grasp what he was talking about.
Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said, "Listen, we're going up to Jerusalem,"
Matthew 20:17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside privately and told them what was going to happen to him.
Mark 10:32 They were now on the way up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were filled with awe, and the people following behind were overwhelmed with fear. Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus once more began to describe everything that was about to happen to him.
Luke 9:51 As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.
Luke 13:22 Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem.
Luke 17:11 As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria.
Luke 19:28 After telling this story (see verses 11-27), Jesus went on toward Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples.

Matthew 1:22 All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord's message through his prophet: "Look! The virgin will conceive a child! she will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God with us.' " (see verses 18-21, Isaiah 7:14)
