Luke 19:8-10 Part 1 of 2

Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, "I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!" Jesus responded, "Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save those who were lost."

Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord

Luke 10:1  The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.

Luke 17:5  The apostles said to the Lord, "Show us how to increase our faith."

Luke 22:61  At that moment the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Suddenly, the Lord's words flashed through Peter's mind: "Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me." (see verse 34)

 

and said, "I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord," 

Luke 3:11  "If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry."

Luke 12:33  "Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it."

Luke 18:22  When Jesus heard his answer, he said, "There is one thing you haven't done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
 

"and if I have cheated people on their taxes," 

Luke 3:12-13  Even corrupt tax collectors came to be baptized and asked, "Teacher, what should we do?" He replied, "Collect no more taxes than the government requires."

 

"I will give them back four times as much!" 

Exodus 22:1  "If someone steals an ox or sheep and then kills or sells it, the thief must pay back five oxen for each ox stolen, and four sheep for each sheep stolen."

2 Samuel 12:6  "He must repay four lambs to the poor man for the one he stole and for having no pity." (see verses 1-25)
