Daniel 8:23-25 Part 2 of 2

"At the end of their rule, when their sin is at its height, a fierce king, a master of intrigue, will rise to power. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause a shocking amount of destruction and succeed in everything he does. He will destroy powerful leaders and devastate the holy people. He will be a master of deception and will become arrogant; he will destroy many without warning. He will even take on the Prince of princes in battle, but he will be broken, though not by human power."

"He will be a master of deception and will become arrogant; he will destroy many without warning."
Daniel 11:21-24  "The next to come to power will be a despicable man who is not in line for royal succession. He will slip in when least expected and take over the kingdom by flattery and intrigue. Before him great armies will be swept away, including a covenant prince. With deceitful promises, he will make various alliances. He will become strong despite having only a handful of followers. Without warning he will enter the richest areas of the land. Then he will distribute among his followers the plunder and wealth of the rich--something his predecessors had never done. He will plot the overthrow of strongholds, but this will last for only a short while." (see verses 1-28)

"He will even take on the Prince of princes in battle,"
Daniel 7:13-14  As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal--it will never be destroyed. (see verses 9-14)
Daniel 11:36  "The king will do as he pleases, exalting himself and claiming to be greater than every god, even blaspheming the God of gods. He will succeed, but only until the time of wrath is completed. For what has been determined will surely take place." (see verses 29-45)

"but he will be broken, though not by human power."
Daniel 2:34  "As you watched a rock was cut from a mountain, but not by human hands. It struck the feet of iron and clay, smashing them to bits."
Daniel 2:44-45  "During the reigns of those kings, the God of Heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever. That is the meaning of the rock cut from the mountain, though not by human hands, that crushed to pieces the statue of iron, bronze, clay, silver and gold. The great God was showing the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its meaning is certain." (see verses 31-45)
Job 34:19-20  "He doesn't care how great a person they may be, but he pays no more attention to the rich than to the poor. He made them all. In a moment they die. In the middle of the night they pass away; the mighty are removed with out human hand." (see verses 16-27)
