Daniel 9:15-16 Part 1 of 2

"O Lord our God, you brought lasting honor to your name by rescuing your people from Egypt in a great display of power. But we have sinned and are full of wickedness. In view of all your faithful mercies, Lord, please turn your furious anger away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain. All the neighboring nations mock Jerusalem and your people because of our sins and the sins of our ancestors."

"O Lord our God, you brought lasting honor to your name by rescuing your people from Egypt in a great display of power."
Exodus 3:20  "So I will raise my hand and strike the Egyptians, performing all kinds of miracles among them. Then at last he will let you go." (see all chapter 3)
Exodus 14:31  When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the LORD had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the LORD and in his servant Moses. (see all chapter 14)
Jeremiah 32:20-21  You performed miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt--things still remembered to this day! And you have continued to do great miracles in Israel and all around the world. You have made your name famous to this day. You brought Israel out of Egypt with mighty signs and wonders, with a strong hand and powerful arm, and with overwhelming terror." (see verses 16-25)
Nehemiah 9:10  "You displayed miraculous signs and wonders against Pharaoh, his officials, and all his people, for you knew how arrogantly they were treating our ancestors. You have a glorious reputation that has never been forgotten." (see verses 9-25)

But we have sinned and are full of wickedness.
Nehemiah 9:26  "But despite all this they were disobedient and rebelled against you. They turned their backs on your Law, they killed your prophets who warned them to turn to you, and they committed terrible blasphemies." (see verses 26-31)
1 Kings 14:9-10  " 'You have done more evil than all who lived before you. You have made other gods for yourself and have made me furious with your gold calves. And since you have turned your back on me, I will bring disaster on your dynasty and will destroy every one of your male descendants, slave and free alike, anywhere in Israel. I will burn up your royal dynasty as one burns up trash until it is all gone.' "(see verses 7-16)
Jeremiah 32:23  "Our ancestors came and conquered it and lived in it, but they refused to obey you or follow your word. They have not done anything you commanded. That is why you have sent this terrible disaster upon them." (see verses 22-24)

In view of all your faithful mercies,
Psalm 78:4  We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD, about his power and his mighty wonders. (see verses 1-8)
Micah 6:3-5  "O my people, what have I done to you? What have I done to make you tired of me? Answer me! For I brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from slavery. I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to help you. Don't you remember, my people, how King Balak of Moab tried to have you cursed and how Balaam son of Beor blessed you instead? And remember your journey from Acacia Grove to Gilgal, when I, the LORD, did everything I could to teach you about my faithfulness." (see all chapter 6)
