Psalm 82:1-2 Part 2 of 2

    God presides over heaven's court;
        he pronounces judgment on the heavenly beings:
            (angelic creatures, gods of the nations,
            high officials or administrators of justice)
    "How long will you hand down unjust decisions
        by favoring the wicked?"

"How long will you hand down unjust decisions by favoring the wicked?"
Deuteronomy 1:16-17  "At that time I instructed the judges, 'You must hear the cases of your fellow Israelites and the foreigners living among you. Be perfectly fair in your decisions and impartial in your judgments. Hear the cases of those who are poor as well as those who are rich. Don't be afraid of anyone's anger, for the decision you make is God's decision. Bring me any cases that are too difficult for you, and I will handle them.' " (see verses 9-18)
Psalm 58:1-2
    Justice--do you rulers know the meaning of the word?
        Do you judge the people fairly?
    No! You plot injustice in your hearts.
        You spread violence throughout the land. (see all Psalm 58)
Psalm 94:20-21
    Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side--
        leaders whose decrees permit injustice?
    They gang up against the righteous
        and condemn the innocent to death. (see all Psalm 94)
Proverbs 17:15
    Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent--
        both are detestable to the LORD.
Proverbs 18:5
    It is not right to acquit the guilty
        or deny justice to the innocent.
Proverbs 24:23-25  Here are some further sayings of the wise:
    It is wrong to show favoritism when
        passing judgment.
    A judge who says to the wicked, "You are innocent,"
        will be cursed by many people and denounced by the nations.
    But it will go well for those who convict the guilty;
         rich blessings will be showered on them. (see all chapter 24)
