Yes, this was their unanimous decision.
They signed a treaty as allies against you--
these Edomites and Ishmaelites;
Moabites and Hagrites;
Gebalites, Ammonites, and Amalekites;
and people from Philistia and Tyre.
Assyria has joined them, too,
and is allied with the descendants of Lot.
and people from Philistia and Tyre.
Genesis 10:6 The descendants of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. [see verses 1-20]
Genesis 10:13 Mizraim was the ancestor of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, Pathrusites, Casluhites, and the Caphtorites, from whom the Philistines came.
Ezekiel 27:1-2 This message came to me from the LORD: "Son of man, sing a funeral song for Tyre, that mighty gateway to the sea, the trading center of the world. Give Tyre this message from the LORD:
"You boasted, O Tyre,
'My beauty is perfect!' " [see verses 1-25]
Assyria has joined them, too, and is allied with the descendants of Lot.
Genesis 10:8-12 Cush was also the ancestor of Nimrod, who was the first heroic warrior on earth. Since he was the greatest hunter in the world, his name became proverbial. People would say, "This man is like Nimrod, the greatest hunter in the world." He built his kingdom in the land of Babylonia, with the cities of Babylon, Erech, Akkad, and Calneh. From there he expanded his territory to Assyria, building the cities of Nineveh, Rehobothir, Calah, and Resen (the great city located between Nineveh and Calah). [see verses 6-12]
