Psalm 104:5-9 Part 1 of 2

You placed the world on its foundation

    so it would never be moved.

You clothed the earth with floods of water,

    water that covered even the mountains.

At your command, the water fled;

    at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.

Mountains rose and valleys sank

    to the levels you decreed.

Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, 

    so they would never again cover the earth.

Genesis 1:2  The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.  (see all chapter 1)

Genesis 7:19  Finally, the water covered even the highest mountains on earth.  (see all chapter 7)

Isaiah 45:18  

For the LORD is God,

    and he created the heavens and the earth

    and put everything in place.

He made the world to be lived in,

    not to be a place of empty chaos.

"I am the LORD," he says,

2 Peter 3:5-6  They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water.  (see all chapter 3)
