Luke 11:45-48 Part 1 of 2

"Teacher," said an expert in religious law, "you have insulted us, too, in what you just said."  "Yes," said Jesus, "what sorrow also awaits you experts in religious law! For you crush people with unbearable religious demands, and you never lift a finger to ease the burden. What sorrow awaits you! For you build monuments for the prophets your own ancestors killed long ago. But in fact, you stand as witnesses who agree with what your ancestors did. They killed the prophets, and you join in their crime by building the monuments!"

"Teacher," said an expert in religious law, 'you have insulted us, too, in what you just said."

Matthew 22:35  One of them (see verse 34), an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: ...

Luke 7:30  But the Pharisees and experts in religious law rejected God's plan for them, for they had refused John's baptism.

Luke 10:25  One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: "Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?"

Luke 11:52  "What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don't enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering."

Luke 14:3-4  Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in religious law, "Is it permitted in the law to heal people on the Sabbath, or not?" When they refused to answer, Jesus touched the sick man and healed him and sent him away.

"Yes," said Jesus, "what sorrow also awaits you experts in religious law! For you crush people with unbearable religious demands, and you never lift a finger to ease the burden." 

Matthew 23:4  "They crush people with unbearable demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden."

Acts 15:10  "So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear?"

Matthew 11:28-30  Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
