Luke 12:16-21 Part 2 of 4

Then he told them a story: "A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops. He said to himself, 'What should I do ? I don't have room for all my crops.' Then he said, 'I know! I'll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I'll have room to store all my wheat and other goods. And I'll sit back and say to myself, "My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink and be merry!" ' But God said to him, 'You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?' Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God."

Luke 12:24  "Look at the ravens. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!"

Proverbs 27:1  Don't brag about tomorrow, since you don't know what the day will bring.

James 4:13-16  Look here, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit." How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog--it's here a little while, then it's gone. What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that. Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.

" ' "Now take it easy! Eat, drink and be merry!" ' " 

Ecclesiastes 2:24a  So I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfaction in work.

Ecclesiastes 11:9  Young people, it's wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.

Isaiah 22:13  But instead, (see verses 1-12) you dance and play; you slaughter cattle and kill sheep. You feast on meat and drink wine. You say, "Let's feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!"

1 Corinthians 15:32  And what value was there in fighting the wild beasts--those people of Ephesus--if there will be no resurrection from the dead? And if there is no resurrection, "Let's feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!"
