Luke 12:13-15

Then someone called from the crowd, "Teacher, please tell my brother to divide our father's estate with me." Jesus replied, "Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?" Then he said, "Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own."

Luke 11:27  As he was speaking, a woman in the crowd called out, "God bless your mother--the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!"

Jesus replied, "Friend, who made me a judge over you to decide such things as that?" 

Micah 6:8  No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Romans 2:1-3  You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God's judgment when you do the same things? (see verses 1-11)

Romans 9:20  No, don't say that. (see verses 17-19) Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God. Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, "Why have you made me like this?" (see verses 20-24)

Exodus 2:14  The man replied, "Who appointed you to be our prince and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?" Then Moses was afraid, thinking, "Everyone knows what I did." (see verses 11-15 and also Acts 7:20-29)

Then he said, "Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own." 

Job 20:20  (Zophar speaking) "They were always greedy and never satisfied. Nothing remains of all the things they dreamed about." (see all of chapter 20)

Job 31:24-25  (Job speaking) "Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold? Have I gloated about my wealth and all that I own?"

Psalm 62:10  Don't make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don't make it the center of your life.

1 Timothy 6:10  For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. (see verses 6-11)
